The Conference of the Library and Information Community of Quebec has awarded the prize Architecture 2015 for Quebec Libraries and Archive Centres to the Library of Montmagny.
The jury, composed of various experts, including two architects, was seduced by the harmonious marriage between the contemporary building, embellished with white wood and a marquise, and the former rectory ,which was respectfully highlighted and skilfully integrated. The jury also highlighted the quality, the elegant simplicity and the coherence between the external volume and the interior design. Charmed by the efficient attention to details demonstrated in this project, the jury has rewarded this project that constitutes a perfectly choreographed ensemble from both an identity and urban aspect. This biannual award aims to give visibility and contribute to the influence of the best architectural projects of libraries and archives centers of Quebec.
