Place Bell, Laval’s future cultural and sports complex, is a project to watch this year as work progresses towards its official opening this September.
The multifunctional complex aims to offer a unique experience to visitors with a 10,000-seat amphitheatre, an NHL-standard skating rink that can adapt to Olympic rink proportions, a sports medicine clinic and several other facilities. Place Bell will be able to host a large variety of events, including concerts, theatre performances, community and corporate events in complement to Laval’s other performance venues.
In close collaboration with the contractor, Pomerleau, the $200-million project was designed using BIM (Building Information Modeling), in order to facilitate construction and optimize the building’s life cycle.
Place Bell is on the radar of architectural blogger Marc-André Carignan. To view his complete list of projects to watch this year, please click here.
