40 ideas to re-think Montreal’s South-West Borough

Blog October 22, 2015
Congratulations to our colleagues Bryan Marchand and Valentin Guirao, both architects at Lemay, and their teammate, Toby Manaças, architect at Aedifica, for their winning proposal during the Incubateur urbain, an initiative of MLT Ville en Mouvement. Open to the public, this design charrette allowed South-West citizens and professionals to discuss and propose original and viable options for their borough. The Incubateur urbain facilitates social acceptability and accelerates urban planning projects. Presented by this architect trio, the winning project suggests to strengthen the Atwater Market by creating a multifunctional “market plaza”. This creative project also features a pedestrian path to connect the market to Lionel-Groulx metro station as well as an urban clubhouse with an ice rink. Their original proposal has seduced many local medias such as The Gazette, Métro, Journal de Montréal and Nightlife.ca. Congratulations to this inspiring trio for their great initiative!
