The sports and cultural complex of Place Bell just received the CanBIM 2015 Innovation Award from Canada BIM Council. This award recognizes those who demonstrate innovation through the implementation of technology during any stages of a project such as design, procurement and operation. This multipurpose complex will accommodate a 10,000-seat arena, a 2,500-seat Olympic-sized rink, a 500-seat community ice rink, a sports medicine centre, commercial and office spaces, two indoor parkings and a major public square in order to fulfill the needs of the population in and around Laval. For this project, BIM technology was applied during the design and construction phases to optimize the building's life cycle and minimize its maintenance fees. Congratulations to the entire team!
