Three talks and an architectural tour at the 2023 RAIC Conference

The annual RAIC conference is resuming its in-person conferences, and experts from our team are bringing an exceptional presence to one of the country’s greatest meetings of architectural minds.

Together, they will be leading a total of three lectures and one architectural walking tour from May 2 to 6, 2023, discussing important and pressing matters in architecture, ranging from truth and reconciliation to educational space design and heritage conservation:

  • Jean-François Gagnon will present Architecture and design as a vehicle for truth and reconciliation, speaking on embracing culture, tradition, and symbolism in sensitive design approaches on May 3rd from 10:30am to 11:30am.
  • Grace Coulter Sherlock and Mark Chambers will discuss Conserving Heritage Buildings & Districts: A Case for Economic, Social and Environmental Resiliency and present research and analysis surrounding Calgary’s commercial areas on May 4th from 2pm to 3pm.
  • Chris Zahaluk and Mark Chambers will be leading the architectural tour Role of Heritage Conversation in Economic, Social & Ecological Revitalization of Calgary City Centre, exploring Calgary’s iconic Stephen Avenue on May 5th from 10am to 12:30pm.
  • Eric Pelletier’s talk Shifting perspectives: schools as vectors of community will reflect on new school designs centered on community and student life on May 6th from 12pm to 1pm.

Please note that the following times for lectures and events are on Mountain Daylight Saving Time.
