The annual RAIC conference is resuming its in-person conferences, and experts from our team are bringing an exceptional presence to one of the country’s greatest meetings of architectural minds.
Together, they will be leading a total of three lectures and one architectural walking tour from May 2 to 6, 2023, discussing important and pressing matters in architecture, ranging from truth and reconciliation to educational space design and heritage conservation:
- Jean-François Gagnon will present Architecture and design as a vehicle for truth and reconciliation, speaking on embracing culture, tradition, and symbolism in sensitive design approaches on May 3rd from 10:30am to 11:30am.
- Grace Coulter Sherlock and Mark Chambers will discuss Conserving Heritage Buildings & Districts: A Case for Economic, Social and Environmental Resiliency and present research and analysis surrounding Calgary’s commercial areas on May 4th from 2pm to 3pm.
- Chris Zahaluk and Mark Chambers will be leading the architectural tour Role of Heritage Conversation in Economic, Social & Ecological Revitalization of Calgary City Centre, exploring Calgary’s iconic Stephen Avenue on May 5th from 10am to 12:30pm.
- Eric Pelletier’s talk Shifting perspectives: schools as vectors of community will reflect on new school designs centered on community and student life on May 6th from 12pm to 1pm.
