Joining Edward Steinfeld from the University at Buffalo and Jesse Klimitz of Human Space for the panel “Beyond Compliance: Designing for Real-World Impact” moderated by Marco Pasqua, Jeffrey’s contribution will focus on neuroinclusive design; he’ll draw on the Sensory Spaces research as well as the Centre Lise and Yvon Lamarre project.

Together, these initiatives explore how the built environment can better address cognitive, sensory, and emotional dimensions of experience, expanding the conversation around accessibility to include a broader range of users and needs.

This perspective reflects a growing emphasis on designing environments that are not only compliant, but intuitive, adaptable, and supportive of diverse ways of perceiving and engaging with space. By grounding design decisions in research and lived experience, these approaches aim to create settings that are more inclusive from the outset.

We look forward to this event, as it contributes to ongoing dialogue across the industry and opens opportunities to collaborate with partners advancing accessibility, neuro-inclusion, and people-centred design.

Accessible both in person and virtually, the event is bringing together leaders across architecture, accessibility, and the built environment to explore how design can better respond to the realities of people experience.
