Lemay recognizes that our various offices and projects are located on traditional and unceded Indigenous territories, and that diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples are the ancestral custodians of the lands and waters of these territories.

Lemay is also cognizant that the practice of architecture has been a historic and ongoing agent for cultural assimilation, colonization, and other impacts on Indigenous ways of life. We believe architects have an important responsibility in redressing these injustices by supporting the sovereignty, prosperity, and improved quality of life of communities affected by our work.

This recognition is part of our firm commitment to the affirmation and advocacy of Indigenous voices and values, and demonstrating sensitivity, listening, and humility in order to build lasting relationships through collaboration and cooperation. We are dedicated to working to decolonize our practice and make efforts toward reconciliation.
