A modern trading port

Located on a coastal island fronting the Taiwan Strait in Fujian Province, this site is an important part of a pilot project aiming to promote cross-strait exchanges and cooperation between China and Taiwan. The project will be built as a modern trading port that will help to achieve social and economic development targets.

Laid out along a green central axis and surrounded by hillsides, the site has three functional areas: the Central Business District, the Industrial Park and the Tax-Free Zone. The Central Business District is arranged symmetrically on each side of the central axis. The result is a harmoniously designed modern coastal city which embraces an “urban village” concept. The total land use area is 28 km2, including the Central Business District which covers 7 km2.
