On June 1st, West Regional Director, Grace Coulter Sherlock and Design Lead, Marie El-Nawar will be presenting their research findings on how emerging practice models are prioritizing ethics and design as a form of activism at the RAIC virtual conference.

Navigating the New Normal: How emerging practice models are prioritizing ethics and design as a form of activism – will be focused on mapping and collecting multiple perspectives on emerging design practices across Canada that have found new paths forward, looking in and beyond the boundaries of the profession to address the multiple crises of the “new normal”.

The bilingual conversation will explore historic practices in Canadian design around ethics and define the societal drivers that are inspiring a desire for change including design as a sustained activism.
