Creating a dynamic and sustainable collection of urban experiences
A highly densified, mixed-use project greening the landscape of Montreal, Royalmount represents the meeting grounds of retail, workplaces, entertainment, hospitality and more within one integrated playground of urban experience. Rising up alongside an intersection of Highways 40 and 15 in the Town of Mount Royal—and connected to the city’s greater network via a pedestrian footbridge arching out to the De la Savane metro station—the project’s many offerings begin with a 15-minute radius focused on connectivity, community and sustainability.
A multidimensional development, Royalmount’s varied collection runs the gamut from an inviting linear park, piazza-inspired public space and residences to a campus-style office park and a wealth of commercial and hospitality amenities numbering in the hundreds. Complementing this energetic hive is an embedded natural living environment which offsets heat island effects and bridges gaps that have long separated the site from the rest of the city. Aiming for a triple certification of LEED, WELL and Parksmart, the latest technologies will support Royalmount’s energy district where sustainable strategies foster an autonomous and equilibrious ecosystem: As its large green spaces create verdant atmospheres throughout the site, its coworking, co-living, and co-mingled varieties of entertainments bring life to its space.
Phase 1 focused on the design and build of the commercial areas, where retail and restaurants will create opportunities for social connection while hotel and wellness areas promote resident and guest wellbeing. Celebrating public art both inside and out, the thoughtful complex blends functionality and aesthetic appeal to ensure the project meets the evolving needs of immediate and surrounding communities.
Despite its multitudinous characteristics and features, Royalmount is interconnected by one thread: Acting as an original midtown presence of urban living, one that is brought to life through enriching activity, culture, and a dense injection of nature—all interwoven with its city’s landscape.
