Leading the way to sustainability

Leading the way to sustainability

Lemay developed a master plan for green spaces at the University of Montreal’s Outremont campus. Open and welcoming, the approach creates a unifying signature and integrates best practices in urban design and landscape architecture.

A framework was developed in order to meet the needs of each sector. Green space has a starring role, with abundant gardens and squares and a north-south axis linking the campus and its surroundings. There is ample space for cyclists and pedestrians.

Lemay supported the City of Montreal in its implementation of sustainable development standards for the public domain portion of the Outremont Campus. Looking to achieve a Gold LEED-ND certification for the entire area, this project is a springboard for the City to improve its construction practices and reduce the environmental impact of municipal infrastructure.
