The REM’s Deux-Montagnes segment is officially opened, marking a major milestone for the region’s transportation network.
This 33-km extension completes a continuous north–south link from Brossard to Deux-Montagnes, connecting communities through 19 stations shaped by a unified architectural vision.
Designed by the consortium of Lemay + Perkins&Will + Bisson Fortin, the stations and their landscape interventions reveal the scale and ambition of this major public infrastructure. Each station responds to its surrounding urban context: as some are woven directly into neighbourhoods, others are elevated above major roadways with new vantage points on the metropolitan landscape. Together, they share a clear architectural identity defined by silkscreened glass curtain walls, ribbed concrete panels, and metallic surfaces that interact with natural light throughout the day.
The opening of this segment follows the South Shore launch in 2023 and represents another essential step toward a fully realized network. Upcoming phases, including the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue segment and the link to Montréal–Trudeau International Airport, will complete a system designed to transform regional mobility and strengthen metropolitan accessibility.
The REM’s expansion underscores once again the collective expertise, coordination, and long-term planning behind one of Canada’s most significant transit projects, an effort that continues to redefine how Greater Montréal moves.
We look forward to having you experience this latest chapter.
