For a second year in a row, Lemay is proud to support the annual DesignTO celebration of creativity, community and experimentation – which will be a “distanced and digital” edition for the first time from January 22 to 31, 2021.

On January 25, a webinar entitled A Crisis in Relevance will see Lemay’s chief design officer Andrew King and senior design lead Marie El-Nawar form part of a diverse panel of design leaders:

  • Cheryl Atkinson, an architect and professor at Ryerson University;
  • Michael Lee Poy, assistant professor at OCAD U;
  • and Zahra Ebrahim, a public interest designer based in Toronto.

Together, they will explore how architects and designers are challenged by – and responding to – the next normal. Join them to review how issues that took on greater importance in 2020 are transforming design.

The panel is free and will take place in English. Register here.

Lemay is also pleased to support the festival’s anchor exhibit, called Exchange Piece. This digital project showcases new work created by pairing 10 emerging artists and designers with 10 established practitioners. It interprets collaboration as an act of care.
