This past weekend saw the grand opening of Mont Brome’s new summit Chalet designed by Lemay.

With seven slopes and a 360-degree experience from its summit, the mountain enjoys a unique status as the largest illuminated ski area in North America.

Local media reported on the “Wow!” effect of the contemporary, articulated white volume that follows the shape of the mountain peak, as well as local officials’ appreciation for the designers’ vision and respect for the mountain’s views and identity.

Encompassing the landing, ski lift, garage and welcome pavilion, the Bromont project was an opportunity for the Lemay team, led by senior partner and design principal Eric Pelletier, to reflect on the relationship between nature and architecture.

Visitors to Bromont, montagne d’expériences will enjoy the chalet’s generous fenestration and breathtaking views of the region and far beyond, as the new landmark frames the landscape from both inside and outside with its natural wood accents. This new tourist attraction will be a major draw and a proud symbol for the City of Bromont.
